The actual rate of inflation is irrelevant. I simply corrected for it.

Not one person has ever indicated why Federal spending needs to track population or GDP. Nobody has ever shown me what element, other than entitlements for the elderly, grows with population or GDP. It's simply declared that it's right and proper for government spending to track GDP, as though if my income tripled I should automatically spend three times as much for every bill I pay or every product or service I buy. Try and remember what government spending actually IS.

So the predictions don't mean anything? Not to those who hold the True Faith of Liberalism. We MUST plan on spending almost $6 trillion a year by 2021, with half-trillion deficits as far as the eye can see. And then print and spend more, and more, and more, and more.

Rule 1 of leftism: The size, power, and wealth accrued to the Federal government shall be infinite.
