See? That wasn't a response, that was a verbal burp, like "So's your old man." It doesn't even make sense, since the Democrats are the ones moving in lockstep with their leaders while the Republicans are in a battle between the Old Guard and the more conservative/libertarian wing of the party.
"Buttmonkey" has a specific meaning, indicating a near-mindless servility to one's master. I have also used the term "Renfield" and "dogsbody," although the latter doesn't necessarily imply the eager servitude of the other terms.
