Good grief.

The Left is in intellectual fibrillation.

So, let's see: the liberal story today - it may be something different tomorrow - is that Obama's revenue proposals, his middle-class tax cuts, are going to break the budget? You want to roll that concept around in your head a while and see where it lands?

Maybe you don't recall the Great Liberal Meme that the Tax Cuts For The Rich are what is wrecking the budget?

But Obama is going to keep the Bush tax rates for the middle class, and raise taxes on the rich and businesses. The Alternative Minimum Tax, an abomination to begin with, will be indexed to inflation to keep the middle class from getting nailed with it. Without adjustment, this year alone 1 in 6 Americans would be subject to the AMT. When the AMT was passed, it was targeted at 155 rich households.

Again, very slowly...Obama's revenue proposals consist of not raising taxes on the middle class, and raising them on businesses and the rich.

And it's still not enough to deal with the psychotic levels of Federal spending.

Any of that sink in this time? It's probably like the third time I've had to post it.

It isn't the taxes.

It's the spending.

It has been for years.

Here's the CBO statement itself, with a link to the full statement in PDF. Not some prechewed reporter's crap. Read it.

The liberals are not only trying to have it both ways, they're trying to have it a dozen ways. It's almost impossible to deal with the raw incoherence lately.

The fact is that the great redistributionist dream is dead. The Democratic socialists have run out of rich people, and are going to have to start devouring the middle class.

I can't wait for them to run on raising taxes on the middle class. Go for it.
