You do what the budget commission recommended. You don't just eliminate the Bush tax cuts, you raise them further on the wealthiest. You create a value added tax. Maybe a national sales tax. You raise the social security age to 67 and impose means testing on both ss and medicare. You reduce overall medical costs by creating national public health insurance for all.
Painful stuff all around but otherwise we continue down the road of unsustainable deficits.
