I hear you.

Well, it takes more than a 3 lb. loss for me to feel justified to "cheat" but I do it as well. Now I'm trying to override that desire and just get on with it.

The problem with not weighing daily is weight gain can sneak up on you, 1 lb. at a time until you're way over where you thought you were. My cardiologist wants me weighing every day.

Of course, I'm about to send my cardiologist into arrhythmia. I've noticed over time that when I have a martini at night, the next day my knees are better and I can get up and down with far less pain. Well, gin comes from juniper berries so I thought I might try taking some juniper berries (capsules) to see if it affects my pain level. Juniper can also affect blood pressure (lowers) and glucose (lowers) and other things including anti-clotting.

Of course, I just read about green tea and it (2-3 cups a day) can do all kinds of things my cardiologist would go through the roof about.

I will, of course, tell my cardiologist what I'm doing so they can monitor my blood thinness and blood pressure. I'll start out slow and titrate up. I ain't no dummy. You got to be careful with herbals when you're on heart or any other medications. If you ever need to look up the properties of herbals and what to be careful with, this is a good site: Herbal supplement resource.
