I acknowledged my gaff on the Iranians being Arabs. I understand that they are Persian but sometimes the way they conduct themselves it is difficult to make the distinction. The moderate comments made by their government are helpful and if they can explain or prove that they are not harboring terrorists, operating in Afghanistan, sending arms to Palistine and nurturing Hesbala, we may get somewhere.
What is the difference in us referring to them as evil and them referring to us as evil? This seems to be their diplomacy of choice. Since Western diplomacy has not produced results, why not try it their way?
First, Since when does what Israel want dictate world affairs. Europe played a major roll through the UN in creating this thorn in the side of the anti-zionists, yet Europe has chosen to stay in the background and kibitz the US efforts to resolve the matter.
Second, France in particular trades with any and all with little regard for imbargos that have been established by the UN. There is not a third world nation that has not bought weapons from France.
Third, Sorry, I don't see the diplomatic results. What I do see is equivocation and opportunism. Nobody really knows where Europe stands on any important issue.
Fourth, It is a shame that the cradle of western civilization has lost their will to resist. How long will it be until your parliments are dominated by Islamics and how long after that will you have any semblance of freedom. Excluding UK, the fact that the Europeans haven't prevailed in a military conflict in about a hundred years may have something to do with it. Of course in my lifetime Europe was torturing Africans and fighting a rear guard action in their corrupt colonies. Shake off the guilt and get back in the fray.
Fifth, All of the countries that openly express their hate of America also hate Europe as much or more. Since you have chosen to leave the policing of the world to America they simply hold you in contempt and look forwa5rd to having you for desert.
Sixth, Europe participated in the creation of Israel and has consistently refused to take any responsibility for the consequences. If the U.S. leans too heavily to Isreal (a possibility) Europe should vigorously intervene and FORCE a resolution. If the Europeans are such great diplomats, why have all the talks been at Camp David?
Seventh, I wish nothing but well for Europe but WWII was 60 years ago and Europes recovery has been less than sterling. I won't argue your economic choices but I can tell you this, the U.S. has never had 15% unemployment in your life time.
I was serious when I said that it would be refreshing to see Europe take a stand on something important. We need a democratic partner in world affairs, not the equivalent of a nagging wife.
