As we all have observed
There has never been a war between democratic nations. Talking seems to work between free societies. That is the reason that the U.S. is sensitive and respectful to European views instead of ignoring and intimidating, as we very well could be. Any leader in a free state must realize that the collective will of the people will reject him if he does not act within reasonable parameters.
Kid glove diplomacy has never been ineffective with oppressive regimes. As we see on this forum it is difficult to change individual opinions.
