Assuming you're not being sarcastic, it's not your fault. My posts tend to use terms like that in a more fuzzy manner than the strict definitions would be, but if I had to nail it down tight the definitions would become ridiculous:
"Socialist Democratic politician"
"liberal-to-moderate Democratic voter"
The point is, I think most people are smart enough to distinguish for themselves what people and philosophies I am referring to when I use the terms. When I call a protest organizer a leftist, you know what his positions are, and you know they aren't the same as the positions held by a father of four who works at a steelyard and has voted Democrat all his life.
It is obvious that Bernie Sanders is a different kind of a Democrat than Joseph Lieberman, and sure as hell different from Hubert Humphrey, John Kennedy, and Lyndon Johnson.
Put it this way: if a post of mine isn't clear on its terms, let me know, and I'll cheerfully elaborate. But don't be deliberately obtuse.
