Fool hens
Where I grew up, in the interior or BC, we had "fool hens", first year blue grouse, who apparently didn't have moving humans wired into their danger circuits. They would stand really still and if you moved even somewhat slowly you could walk right up to them and wring their necks. Their buddies would just rustle a little nervously and then you could go on to the next one. I never did it, but could have many times.
