"Uh...you have to hunt the ones OUTSIDE the fence. "

Tom, you flush a fat gobbler out into a field, yer gonna get him... Specially if you have a few rocks and a friend waiting on the other side of the field...

I never killed one this way, But I used to chase 'em for fun when I was young and didn't know any better...

The trick is waiting patiently until they get near enough to flush into the open, and not being seen/heard/smelled in the process (really, dumb luck). Its not like they can fly, but conversly You don't have a chance while they stay in the brush.

One of my friends from youth used to catch Armadillos this way- and yeah, he'd actually make a stew (ewww). My grandpa was able to chase down jack-rabbits all the way up until his early 30's accrding to my uncles and mom. So hunting with rocks, sticks, speed and cleverness is not impossible... Just gives Lunch a chance to survive to dinner. Some might say its sporting and fair and less cruel in the sense that the small animal has a fighting chance.

much better than waiting in a deer blind with your gun sighted in on a damn salt-lick.
