Strange.

I certainly don't say youre wrong, as you obviously have spent a lot of time in pursuit of those fowl fowel... But this is strange.

I can't see Wild Turkeys being that different between Iowa and Oklahoma, and I spent most of my childhood crashing around hundreds of acres of remote Oklahoma Scrub land, and yeah, I saw Turkeys on a regular, nearly daily basis, and chased them more than once, and saw my dog chase after them many times.

Maybe Okie turkeys are lazy and laidback, and never fly when they don't haveto... Maybe they are agorophobic... Maybe the breeds really are that different.

Or it could be that fewer predators in my area (domestic dogs run wild are just about all there would be) has produced birds that never have had to fly...

We have a few coyote packs, but they ran maily at night, and all a turkey woud have to do is get up into a dense bit of brush or low tree and they would be fine...

Odd. I can't account for it... Maybe I'm just on crack.
