...The entire argument is predicated on the belief that a fetus is a child. You say it is. I say it isn't. Your argument is based on sentiment and the shape of the fetus, not on its actual characteristics.
Furthermore, it isn't even capable of drawing a breath on its own for, what, five months? The mother's body chemistry has to labor mightily to keep her immune system from destroying the little biological parasite.
...My misery had a lot to do with post-partum hormonal poisoning compounded by being treated like furniture. So it was all about me.
I have no effective response to this. I guess we'll have to leave it as a matter of opinion and worldview. Apparently the woman in the story wasn't as detached about it.
