Grow a uterus and say that
My sympathy to your wife. I know it hurts. And I know that people deal with their pain differently. Mourning the potential of a wanted child is one way.
That doesn't mean I believe a fetus is, in fact, a child. It stands in for the hope of one. It's a very different thing from a live baby, or even a stillborn one.
You don't have the numbers to judge or the psychology to understand "most women", let alone compare me to the larger group.
And so help me, the next time I hear that "we" are pregnant, I'll throw up. Until the child is born, the only thing the man has is, we hope, an emotional attachment.
