The source of wealth is labor. And it remained that way until folks could subjugate other folks.
Physically subjugate, either by force or law, which is force, as you point out re the IRS.
Or economically subjugate, as does the World Bank in the name of "capitalism", by the way. It then uses the laws its' principals have created to enforce the economic subjugation.
That still doesn't change things. The source of wealth is labor.
