Ok, Ok...relax...

...I apologize Mary Anne.

When Robert said this,

"Modern capitalism is an abstract form of slavery in which those who control existing wealth control the lives of those who don't have it."

The response post idea came very clearly into my mind (especially after having run across that cool propaganda poster site)

Your inclusion on the list, I might add, was intentional - as I knew it might inspire a voluminous response. Fox is offended that I left him out, but being liberal just isn't the same thing. I can't honestly recall him having ever ragged on capitalism and corporations in the same manner as say Lindy, Robert and Bowser have. Perhaps he has, and I forgot.

And me on a high horse? Couldn't happen. I am not a big fan of horses. If I ride, I ride small low horses.

;-)

As for being a Nazi...well according to this I ride with Hitler on occasion.

These ones IMHO still apply today.

Yes, propaganda posters aren't all bad.

It is easy to forget the freedoms we have here. It's easy to get "Americanized" and take for granted our standards of living, religious freedom and separation of church and state.

My point was that capitalism is the system of freedom - not socialism, not communism. Those systems ultimately lead to slavery - even though they may seem to help the "little guy" - they don't.

Capitalism is the closest thing to an infinite system of government - a system where individual liberty and opportunity remain as close as possible to unlimited. To go from wretched poverty to billionaire is still possible under capitalism.

I apologize for portraying anyone here as a communist - I may often misread remarks.

(Cue: God Bless America music starts here)

However, I do not apologize for my unabashed support of capitalism and freedom...which remains, despite its detractors claims, the greatest system of governance on the face of the earth.

;-)
