Obviously I must be.

Did the Ball of Light experience shake you up?

No. It was fun, not scary.

Has Tom sent you his flag pajamas yet?
I REALLY wonder where you get this tremendous sense of pride and patriotism from.

Nope. But I do have a pair of flag swim shorts. And I bet I have had them longer than Tom has had his pajamas.

;-)

Are you afraid of being seen as un-American if you don't present yourself that way?

No. Is it so hard to believe that I really AM that patriotic? That I believe the world's only true hope for the future lies in the actions of this government, at this time and place in history?

Are you having lunch with Rumsfeld tomorrow?

No.

Planning a war and meeting defense ministers from around the world, while jet-hopping from country to country isn't the easiest job for a 70 year old man. I'm sure he naps at lunchtime.

;-)

Or are you brainwashed because your grandfather was brought over here with other Germans working for Hitler after WWII?

What does my grandfather have to do with this? He wasn't brought here at all. He was the Editor-in-Chief for 30 years of the science journal Atom und Strom. First he was made a Colonel in the Luftwaffe and served in an supervisory/technical capacity (such as designing the excellent air raid siren and alert systems) and then as the tide of the war turned he fought on the eastern front. He spent a week in a tree to avoid being slaughtered by the particularly brutal slavic forces. He never fully recovered from that and it weakened his heart, taking several decades off his life.

You're mixing my "von Braun-character" storyline I posted (wayback when I was going to be banned) with reality. I know it's confusing sometimes.

;-)

I found a few of the posters you dropped above to be distasteful.
The one of the family cringing under the brown shirts could very well be US in the next few years.

You REALLY believe this? You believe that Bush is a totalitarian brownshirt and Ashcroft is his SS Commandant?

Bush is a born-again Christian.

Right now in Guantanamo, we have Taleban captives and other suspected terrorists holed up. They have been visited by the Red Cross and found to be treated very well.

This was not part of a master plan but of circumstances.

By your logic - Roosevelt let Pearl Harbor be attacked so that he could round up all Japanese-Americans and put them in internment camps. An act, by the way, which is 1000 times worse than imprisoning war prisoners and terrorist suspects.

And I just found the post where you lumped me in with the all the other "communists/marxists" on this board, and I didn't think it was funny as well.

I apologize.

However, your anti-Bush, anti-Business, etc. posts leave me wondering exactly how you can sustain this fearful and conspiratorial mindset.

Have you seen a US brownshirt beating up your neighbors and hauling them away?

Has Ashcroft imposed that national prayer-time law yet?

Did Bush go to the UN instead of unilaterally attacking Iraq?

Is Bush actually giving Saddam a chance?

The only thing we have to fear - is fear itself.

I have different, more important things to do with my time than portray people here like that. Although we have our differences, I ususally don't attack or denigrate a person, unless they have it coming (because they attacked otr denigrated me).

My satiric post was that nasty, eh? I thought it was actually pretty funny. But that just goes to show how insensitive I must be getting.

Also, I just got back from Phoenix, and will admit you could have driven the twenty miles to join me for coffee.
Just what are you afraid of?

Well I hope you liked Phoenix - it's nice this time of the year. (cool but not cold)

Obviously I must be losing it...since my sensitivity meter must be way off equilibrium - as I seem to offend others by action or inaction constantly!

I guess I'm going to have to work on that.

Take care Lindy,
