And what good will $100million do the girl?

First, for the jury to not hold the parents primarily responsible for the child is obscene. Parents are responsible for two year olds wondering off, not apartment management companies.
If the girl had wandered in the street and gotten smashed, would it have been the city's fault for having roads easily accessible by kids?
Would it have been Detroit's fault for not making cars that can't hurt a child in the street?
Second, for the award to not be based on a reasonable amoujnt of pain and suffering plus lifetime care for thechild means that the award has little to do with justice.
$100 million has everything to do with jurors thinking about lottery winnings and very little to do with justice.
