More a poor judgment call. Burning the flag is perfectly legal, and holds up as a right in the supreme court. There was a time when the "wearing" of garments modeled from Old Glory was evil, actually punishable by a prison term.
Burning the flag does no harm to the principles it represents, not does it diminish our nation. In this particular incident, however, it is a flagrant disregard for the trust placed in a teacher's care.
Evil, no.
Dead wrong, yes.
