of repeated reactionary Republican attacks on Clinton, and you can start that with the attack on Clinton's continuation of US troop deployment in Somalia...
Also, the head of the investigation into the First World Trade Center bombing also came under repeated politically motivated attacks.
Oh yeah, all those arrests of the terrorists at the turn of the millenia was just accidental... who the fuck are you and Salon trying to BS here?
Without going into the rest of this, by your own admission Clinton tried repeatedly to kill bin Laden. Bush Jr abandoned this policy, as he simply did not know who bin Laden was, any more than he knew who the President of Pakistan was. Due to Bush Jr's ignorance of world affairs, bin Laden got an 8 month free ride. You think Lieberman and Gore did not know who bin Laden was? Yeah, right...
Again, by your own admission, Gore, on the other hand, proposed in 1997 a computer tracking system which would have prevented the hijackers from boarding the planes in the first place.
Let's look at the Republican approach to airport security. Right now we've got 1.7 million unemployed, and it's worsening. It started with airport security, and right now we still don't have airport security, in large part due to Armey's fear of "another federal union."
Bush Jr should have called out the Naional Guard when the planes began to fly again, but he didn't. I'll grant that Bush Jr did say that he would "accept" federal control of airport security, and I guess he will... shortly.
The Bush Jr's administration's current approach to airport security? Lie when a terrorist gets on board an aircraft with explosives constructed into his shoes. I don't know who is responsible for the decision to initially lie about Reid, but I would like to have their butt sacked. And I intend to be vocally critical of the Bush Jr administration until this is done.
Bush Jr did not take immediate action on airport security, and now we've got a recession, which is going to turn into a depression if the Republican tax plan goes through.
Let me introduce you and some of the other folks here to a novel concept, called the Marginal Fucking Propensity to Consume. It states that poor people spend their money, while the rich save it.
Right now no one is spending, because they don't know what will happen next. If you give tax breaks to the rich, they won't spend it. If you give tax breaks to the poor, they'll spend it, because they have to. You want to stimulate the economy, give money to the "less wealthy".
By the way, I also want the Department of Interior computers put back on line, and I will not stand quietly by and permit Bush Jr allowing DoI to be fucked with.
