<I wish I could say it was talking with two recently laid off friends which has me upset. I wish it was learning of another two friends shutting down their small business which did it. But it was the 160 point drop in the market, combined with some people blowing smoke up my ass about how on top of the al Qaeda cells they were.
Compare this observation with a previous quote:
...Right now no one is spending, because they don't know what will happen next. If you give tax breaks to the rich, they won't spend it. If you give tax breaks to the poor, they'll spend it, because they have to. You want to stimulate the economy, give money to the "less wealthy".
That's okay. Businessmen are all a bunch of sorry, selfish bastards who don't deserve any more money that they need to buy food and pay rent. So don't worry. By increasing the taxes of those rotten rich to a ruinous rate, we will assure your laid-off friends and small businessmen will have LOTS of company to make them feel better. After all, if we let those wealthy bastards keep any extra money, they won't spend it, they'll just "save" it, probably by putting it into the stock market or their companies, and who knows what THAT would to to the Dow Jones Average?
Can you remember a time when you were hired for a job by a poor person? Do the poor build office buildings? Start companies? Build factories? Cripes.
I may have to start my own economics school. Probably at the kindergarten level.
