Hi Lindy,
Anyone who follows the energy industry closely, would know that Enron was a company which was changing its focus and made risky gambles with investor funds.
Enron got a lot of media press which funneled money into it, yet the company was primarily a natural gas hauler - which decided two years ago to pursue telecommunications interests by laying down cable with pipelines.
Once the E-scam went bust - a scam which was perpetuated by venture capitalists and bankers - who are really in the stock business to perpetually create new stock for old worthless stock - Enron was dead in the water.
Creative accounting, AKA fraudulent accounting was all the rage in E-time. Stock was changed and new stock created at a dizzying pace.
When the telcom, business to business, and every other sector blew up - energy was heavily invested in as a last ditch effort.
Banks are easily as guilty as the Enron executives - and yet investors should NEVER rely on ANYONE ELSES recommendations or analysis!!!!!!
I actually had read Enron's filings with the SEC as filed and available using Edgar...and they did not inspire confidence. This was over a year and a half ago and so Enrons collapse is NOT a surprise to ANYONE who has been informed.
The bankers are not surprised, politicians are not surprised. Stockbrokers are not surprised. Only folks who don't read the 'truth' of a company as revealed by the SEC filings are surprised.
Corrupt chief executives are nothing new... the Clinton era was the ME ME ME era - an era where getting rich was all that mattered and character was a dirty, archaic word. The stock scams and fraud occuring in the Clinton era made the 'greedy' eighties look almost wholesome and innocent!
If the Bushes are so good at robbing peoples money and controlling the world - how is it that they couldn't rig the 1992 election?
Jeez, for such omnipotent tycoons - an election stealing ought to be a cakewalk. Heck Kennedy and Johnson could do it easily, and they weren't omnipotent CIA masters of the world like the Bush family!
That's where the delusion fails.
No, the Enron collapse is not Bush's fault. The Bush family did not engineer it or the terrorist attacks.
Corruption and bad business is everywhere one looks - and is part of the materialistic domain.
Best wishes,
SDAI-Tech1
