Perhaps I should have said "starting trouble," rather than "looking for trouble," because the latter is, in a sense, exactly what we're doing...looking for potential trouble and stepping in to defuse the timebomb. Iraq, I think, is such a timebomb; one of Saddam's making, not ours.
btw, I agree with you that the search for peaceful solutions to conflict is, in most cases, vitally important and shouldn't be abandoned. But I also think there are times when the Gunboat is the most suitable means for getting someone's attention. It's just human nature...sometimes you have to shout to be heard.
