The 9/11 disaster did not damage democracy ONE TINY BIT. If any Americans feel less proud of their country for the attack then they are pretty much traitors in my book, and they are welcome to leave.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court ruling that a recount was unconstitutional in a close election was, is, and always will be nuts. Even referring such a case to the Supreme Court was a dangerous misuse of the body - politicizing it and tarnishing its image forever.
