Most of my family are democrats and liberal in many ways. Probably about like Tony, Alcaray, Buck, Fox, MA and R. L. but to the right of you and certainly right of Pubiculous.

My Brother in law is a life long member of IBEW and has never admitted voting for a Republican (I think he voted for Reagan once). He is one of the millions of Democrats who really think that there is a SS trust fund and believes that the rich are evil and greedy and all the rich are Republicans. In spite of this, he would have carpet bombed Afghanistan with nukes on 9/12, so don't think for a second that anyone but ultra-left idealogues are tiring of this war in the way that you describe. Your boy Pubic wouldn't like my Bro in law but he would condescend to welcome his vote.

The big difference in right and left philosophers like Pubic and Tom is the left cajoles and bombards with bombastic bull shit and the right presents POV that is beyond the comprehension of well over half of the Democrat's power base. The right says listen, learn and come to understand and accept my perception of reality. The left says don't worry, be happy, we know what's best for you, all that thinking will just give you a headache.

I trust the people to ultimately sort it out. LBJ's "Great Society" almost destroyed the Dems. Then Nixon came along and breathed new life into the beast. It may take another four years of Dem control to finally purge ourself of the leftist sickness. We will probably know by the end of this year.
