Sorry for interpreting your bias comments in the conspiracy mode. I certainly agree there is a nonconspiratorial shading of the way news is presented. It is not something however that can't be easily overcome by a little skeptical review of the news.
It amazes me how Daschle can be villified by Republicans for using tactics similar to Gingrich to a far lesser degree. While he has made a few comments that seemed out of line to me, he is far less an obstructionist demagogue than Gingrich. Remember what goes around comes around. Ratcheting things down a notch is progress in moderation. Most Americans willl laugh at attempts to demonize Daschle while Gingrich is still well remembered.
I guess I mistakenly linked the campaign finance reform promises of the Republicans with contract with America. That doesn't change the fact that they made them or that your own source does cover fiscal responsibility. So again, When did you give up on those goals or were they liberal plots by Gingrich? McCain stayed true to those goals despite being slammed by "conservatives" claiming he is a closet liberal.
