I noticed we agreed on most of this. Now, "Have you ever been in a library where a kid couldn't just pluck "Peyton Place" off the shelf, sit down and read it?"

I DID just that. Loved that book, great literature. So was Michener's "South Pacific". Took a bit of imagination, but I had that.

And, from the same library I learned to make pipe bombs, and absolutely leveled my sister's sand box. Not a trace left. Scared the hell out of me. And how to generate hydrogen, making balloons we sent over the city with fuzes attached. Had to go back to the book to learn we needed to mix oxygen with it to make it explode instead of just burn.

And, since our sources weren't good, we couldn't make nitroglycerine or guncotton. Hammered that stuff, burned it, did everything to no avail.

All from that library. Not much different than the internet, but the 'net makes it easier.

Don't know the answer to censorship, do know with good parenting there doesn't have to be too much worry.
