<So, you are a child with Internet access only via the library?
No, I am an adult on the wrong side of the 'digital divide'. In the library I use, all of the public Internet access terminals are available to all ages of user. The law says, any terminal available to chidren. My access would be as restricted as any 12 year old's.
As a parent, I would object to use of my tax $ to facilitate unsupervised unrestrestricted Internet access by my children. Filters for kids at places of PUBLIC access is a reasonable demand by parents.
As a library patron and supporter (by way of my taxes), I would and do object to unsupervised children - and so should librarians, whose job it most definitely is not. Libraries are not public daycare centers.
In other words - the supervision is the responsibility and the right of the parent.
