Revisionism: Recounting history as a function of one's prejudices.

My search didn't find anything of the Israeli government admitting their soldiers shot that kid. And, what I remember of the incident was that it was filmed, by a photographer from a neutral country, and the outrage was intense. The Israeli government admitted it's soldiers shot him, and said they would "look into" the incident. I doubt if there's anyone in the world besides those on this board who doubt the Israelis shot that harmless kid, including the Israelis. And not from the "bunkers" of Burley's imagination.

And, somehow, folks think that because it doesn't fit their preconceptions they will just deny it happened. An awesome demonstration of mind over matter.

And, a search did reveal atrocities beyond belief on both sides going back a long, long ways. However, prior to the latest round of suicide bombers the ratio was 20 Palestinians dead to one Israeli. Smart of the Israelis? Yes. Do those numbers show an uneven situation, maybe one side far more abused than the others? To some it might.

Now, there's no use finding citations, or bothering folks with facts. Why not? Because even when confronted with them they don't seem to handle them.

At one point in the debate someone said "Find one instance prior to 1947 where Jewish terrorism resulted in the deaths of civilians."

Found lots of them - the King David Hotel was only one.

"Well, the Jews didn't target malls!!" Didn't have malls in those days, did have bazaars, but technically, that one is right.

The Jews hung two British soldiers not in the heat of any battle, but because of what the soldiers had done, but just to "send a message".

(But the same people who will deny the US economy was the strongest in the world in early 2001 can do anything with their minds and reality.)

Now, without an army, if the Palestinians are going to defend themselves, they have to resort to "terrorism".

And, every action by the Israeli Army is against a civilian population.

(One of the things about this which strikes me odd is that those Israeli tanks are allowed to roam free. If their allies were really any good, there's be a few TOWs expended.)

As I said once before if these boards were weighted so heavily against the Jews, I'd have to take their side. And, this situation isn't black and white. Both sides are right, and wrong, and one is much more oppressive than the other.

I also believe that the American public is extremely fairminded when given the facts. The current outrage is because they aren't told about the Palestinian situation in times of "peace". If both sides were given fair play in the press, I think we'd be fed up with them both.
