Just read a book on the later presidencies. Was very, very surprised to read that those folks who worked for the Carters thought they were both complete jerks - rude, thoughtless, and arrogant. Hated 'em.

Chip Carter was caught smoking dope at Camp David with 8 Marines, who were all transferred immediately. Amy, allegedly, would throw stuff on the floor of Air Force One just to make people clean it up.

Didn't expect that.

I had a roommate who was a Secret Service Agent. Would work up to 5 months at a time during Presidential Elections without coming home. Congress had passed special laws concerning their pay, and at his worst, something like after being on duty 412 hours steadily (I don't know what it was), he got 9 cents an hour.
