<John Pilger is an award-winning Australian journalist.
I take it you have no questions about the identities or opinions of the NY Times or the CIA, both of which reached essentially the same conclusion as Mr. Pilger, i.e. there is no concrete evidence of any sinister connection between Iraq and the events of Black Tuesday.
Another link to the issue of Atta and the alleged Prague connection.
Note that this time, it's Newsweek/MSNBC which cast doubt on the alleged contact, while William Safire of the NY Times continues to believe (or at least write a/o last April) that the meeting actually took place.
Note too that the link to the Newsweek/MSNBC story (contained in the reference linked above) does not currently point to any story on Atta that I could find. I have not followed-up on the other links in the referenced newsgroup posting.
