TB, what is pissing us off is not that you're opposed to statism, but that you assume we're all in favor of it. Do have any idea how self-righteous and insulting that is?

Have you ever actually paused and heard yourself talk, read your own writings? You're not the clever, slightly annoying Socratic gadfly you imagine yourself to be, you're just totally insufferable and rude. And you wonder why people resort to ridicule and sarcasm to deal with you. It's the only way we can respond other than with obscenity and anger.

And as for those "otherwise intelligent people", they seem to be thinking just fine to me. They are quite correct in seeing your objections to them as being shrill and hysterical, and even if not motivated by sheer naked self-interest, then certainly appearing that way.
