Well, my point was that perhaps equating Socialism with mediocrity isn't fair. Clearly, it can be a workable way to get things done. That it's a nasty word in this country is unfortunate. Including socialist ideas in the dialog wouldn't mean we all have to start wearing red armbands and calling each other comrade.
