I am a gun owner and supporter of the right to bear arms (and ankles for that matter!). The RHETORICAL QUESTION (notice the 'should' and the '?'):
"Should Canada (supposing She had the means and will) go to war on us to take away all our fire-arms and put us all in prison camps and use as the justification: 'If we pacify those violent americans, we will save more lives in the long run than they loose in the war?'

was SUPPOSED to ILLUSTRATE that human life and its duration was not the only value in moral calculus, and that to ignore that led to insane situations- not to say that you advocated them, or attribute that to you.
