"But I am talking about the morality of threatening to invade pretty much any country we choose to while saying the words: WMD! terrorism! 9/11! in a loud voice."
Let's keep this simple. Which country is the Sec of State threating to invade? If a country want to know America's formal position in regards to their nation, they should listen to what the Sec of State is saying.
For most part Bush is talking to the American public. It might be true that Bush is making a mistake in that he might be intenting to sometimes address the World instead of the USA. He's not the president of the world, so he should try to keep the focus on the America Public.
I don't think that the Sec of Def is making the mistake of address the wrong public, though it seems some heads of state seem to think he is talking at them. As for all the freaking talking heads. What can I say we live in a democracy- we talk to each other.
