Truth is not a democratic notion, thankfully. The majority of Germans once were/supported/voted for Nazis. NOT THAT AMERICA IS OR IS EQUIVALENT TO NAZI GERMANY, but whole groups of people can AND HAVE been fooled into doing vastly stupid and immoral things. You might call this the plot of History! We MUST avoid doing the same! Fact, AND NOT cleverly written fiction or passionate feelings, is what we should use as our compass- both moral AND practical. Fact is what I was asking for BEFORE this war and Fact is what I am STILL waiting for AFTER this war. This should be an indication to REASONABLE PEOPLE that something is NOT right about this whole scenario.

We will be and SHOULD be damned as fools and as an immoral people IF FACTS NEVER SUPPORT OUR ACTIONS. That scares me severely. That is the damage to our forign image/policy/ability to wield power that I warned about.

This is serious folks, not a joke or some abstract political position. We WILL NOT STAND as a nation with the entire world trying to pull us down- no matter how romantic or soothing to our isolationist thinkers this notion might be, the weight of the others will end us as a world power. I DO NOT want to live in a has-been country like every other has-been country. America will be fundamentally changed if it is not about the percieved future direction anymore.
