Don Quixote, please tell us what policy will cure a natural move in the economic cycle
First daschle et al wanted to raise taxes.
Then they wanted to 'balance' the budget on the backs of the American taxpayer by keeping high taxes in the face of a weak economy.
All you can do on this topic, as you do on the war is carp.
To pretend that the economy, after being overheated throughout the late 90's, can miraculously be 'recovered' by government fiat is a completely fallacious premise. It is going to take time, a lot debt liquidation, and government allowing money to remain in private hands, to get through this.
There are no policy magic bullets to cure it, like an antibiotic.
You persist in carping and whining, along with the dim party, in a cynical pursuit of power.
