Modest income tax cuts for the middle class. But they aren't the ones the Republicans in charge want so they are DOA. What everyone ignores is that the Fed didn't stop cutting rates because they couldn't but because they had thought they had done enough and that war worries were the main obstacle. They can still cut rates. The economy has already shown signs of recovery, but could go either way. While Bush will clearly claim credit for a recovery in the 2004 elections if it happens his tax cuts will have only just started to have an impact by then. Any recovery if it happens will already be underway just as it was when Clinton ignored the leading indicators in the 92 campaign to bash Bush 1 on the current state of the economy. The economy had turned before the election, but didn't bloom until after Clinton took over allowing him to claim credit.
