Glad To See You Admit Dividend Cut Is a red herring

Not sure you admitted it was a red herring of a stimulous though. You accurately described a tax cut benefitting most people who work for a living rather than a minority that would be the major beneficiaries of dividend cut. That would be such an awful thing wouldn't it? I don't recall anyone ever saying the rich represented a large portion the population. The people that I think are abusing the system are the ones with multimilion dollar salaries. The CEOs and high officers that get bonuses even when profit is down or who fix the books so they can make big bucks off their stock options while mortgaging their companies future. Or the golden parachute folks kicked out before they could do major damage making big money off dividends.

I think you will find few Americans who think their CEO's are brilliant enough to warrant being paid 20 times let alone 200 times as much or more as their educated and hard working employees.

And Tom, a dividend tax cut is not an across the board cut so your whole line is a red herring. Your Democrats are out to sabatoge Bush is one too. They know the dividend tax cut is not a good recession ending stimulous plan. Any one who knows beans about econ knows this. Bush knows the economy is likely to recover even if he does pass a bad plan so he can gamble on one his big money constituents want. Helps raise that 100 million for the next campaign. Mind you I not saying Bush doesn't believe his cut is good for everyone long term, or even that it will help somewhat in ending the recession. I'm just saying he's picking an option that benefits his supporters the most and that the people who have his ear really want this.

Anyone who would sacrifice his families welfare by donating a tax cut so others can enjoy the benefit of poor fiscal planning would be stupid. I'm willing to give up a tax cut for my kids future. I'm not willing to take money away from them so you or anyone else can have one.

Regards,
Mark
