Yes, I am very suspicious about why the 'liberation' thing suddenly became so emphasised in the 11th hour, just before the war- and became the main theme for the administration ever since. it almost as if it was a distraction maneuver.

Interestingly, it is also the case that the justification-du-jour changed frequently in the lead up to the war. The 'Terrorist huddle in the Czech Republic' was big, and then suddenly it was the Niger yellowcake, and then it was Ansar Al Islam, and then it was some al-qaeda guy living in Baghdad getting medical treatment, and then it was 'months' away from a nuke... All of these things came out and were pushed hard, all of them turned out false (or at the very least not true to this point), and were off the administrations talking point list within days, to be replaced by the next item, before their veracity could be tested and examined by the oh-so-distracted media.

And the partisans sit back and think this was 'well done' and 'well played'. It just floors me that thousands of people died over this and that an entire facet of the political spectrum openly says it doesn't matter that it was all done for false reasons, and insults the integrity and questions the patriotism of those that do think it matters (Ala Coulter, Hannity and the other bobble-heads).

It seriously troubles me that our nation is this callous. Can be this dehumanizing, and do it all in the name of being humane, and make that claim with a straight face and no sense of shame.

(And now I step back and wait for the torrent of tripe to arrive from the usual suspects)
