An actual link to the U.N. document would have been useful.
All I could find at the session for that date pertaining to depleted uranium casualties was a statement by the government of Iraq, which of course, would make it bullshit from the bottom up, as if the claim that five percent of Iraq's population had been killed by depleted uranium wasn't ludicrous enough. Intelligent people formed their own conclusions about a regime which wailed about shortages of medicine and food for children for a decade, while at the same time spending hundreds of millions on the military and dozens of ornate palaces. Less intelligent people needed to have their noses rubbed in this discrepancy after the recent war. Real dimbulbs still don't get it.
People who still blame America or anyone other than Saddam for the results of the sanctions are jackasses, and I wish there was some way I could make money off of people with such complete lack of reasoning. I hope you don't fall into that category.
I can't raise the Business Week article on the link you gave. The Internet has been flaky. If you can, please cut and paste the appropriate quotes.
