Sorry, let me clarify my rant. I think that NASA has done an excellent job with the great observatory program, even with the initial Hubble flaw. Complex programs are hard to manage. I see basic science as something that a govt should consider funding. The unmanned planetary exploration gets a lesser but good grade as well.
