TOM: "What America really needs is a little financial help. We got quite a bit of it in Gulf War One, but are getting squat right now."
MY REPLY: And why is that, exactly? Think this one through, Tom, and perhaps you'll understand my reply better than you have so far. We essentially demonized France and Germany, as well as other nations skpetical about our case for war. And now, we when we realize they were right and we need their help, you expect them to forgive and forget?!?
TOM: "Oh, in case you need your nose rubbed in it, the UN is in on the Afghanistan effort. How's that going?"
MY REPLY: It was going great until we got ourselves muddled and distracted in Iraq. The Taliban and Al Qaeda have seized an opportunity to steal a page from the Iraqi "resistance."
