Now why would you include Republican Bush with Democrat Clinton except that a recession occurred during his term? While tax raises are a convenient excuse it is not a rigorous comparison to rig the comparison to over weight a normal economic down turn. The post Bush 90's were a fabulous period which broke all kinds of economic records. The data they reviewed was obviously cherry picked not to mention stops in the mid 90s. Relative to the issue at hand is actual tax revenues figures GDP figures, and GDP growth rates THROUGHOUT the 80s and 90s. That's 2 decades with recessions at the beginning just like this one.
"Interest rates, inflation, and unemployment fell faster under Reagan than they did immediately before or after his presidency." Gee it's real easy to look good after you follow a dufus like Carter. Falling faster from historic highs is not nearly as impressive as reaching historic combined lows.
Thanks for the link though I'll read it more in depth later. You're wrong on taxes though. Not enough and you can't provide needed infrastructure or an effective legal system, too much and business is stifled. Moderation and objective evaluation of economic data rather than partisan dogma is the way to find the right balance.

Mark
