I must have missed the newsreels of our troops coming home bearing the chattel of the conquered, dragging their new-found slaves behind them, leaving the suffering to slowly die in their wake...

For us to have conquered a nation, we would need to reduce it to total submission, and claim the land as our own. You may believe otherwise, but we did not “conquer†Iraq. We set Iraq free.
