The rich are getting richer because their investments are growing in value due to the power of compound interest. The poor are not making any investments because they are struggling to survive and don't have disposable income to invest. The gap has to grow under those conditions. It's not growing because the rich are hiding the money somewhere off shore. The rich are growing the economy as predicted by the trickle downers, but they are the only ones benefitting by a rising standard of living other than those getting jobs who didn't have one before. This is the BS of the Bush tax cut as originally proposed. Our economy had good growth rates before the recession to help with unemployment We didn't need more stimulus when he proposed his cuts. When we did need stimulus his cuts weren't the type that turns an economy around fast.
