re: My points do too.

"Saddam's support of terrorists is not the fantasy you insist it is. I have posted many links like this one, which seems to show it isn't as cut-and-dried as you say. And it's not like al-Qaeda is the only terror movement in the world. That Saddam is willing to attempt terror acts against the U.S. (never mind other countries) was also long ago proven, or maybe trying to kill a former President doesn't count. "

With the president killing thing- every time I have asked you for proof, and every time its been like taking to the wind. I'll say this yet again- put up or shut up on the issue.

As far as I know, the entire allegation rests with the Kuaiti secret police in the post-war environment, and as far as I know they have never offered material proof.

As to your weekly standard piece- I actually follwed it up and researched it and wrote a reply... I never posted it because by the time I had the chance to read and respond, I had been sick of CE. So I'll dig that out and post it. That weekly standard pice is, in general however, just a re-hashing of the same tired old songs that has NO proof or evidence behind it. You and anyone else can allege all day long, and they can be believable allegations too- but to support war you need more than allegations.

Again, when it comes to killing its (A v ~A)- its either justified or its murder. Unless you want to indulge in moral relativism, even you must agree with this premise. We invaded under a set of justifications that were not proven true before the initiation of the conflict, and have not proven true. I don't think its moral to change the charges after te execution, I would be surprised if you would argue that it is.

The leaks about the Kay report seem to confirm the dire lack of evidence.

Killing a bunch of folks to stop Saddam from killing a bunch of folks because it is good for the collective in your personal estimation is an absurd maxim, and I don't see how you can adhere to it and be consistent with the ideologies you expressed here. The pedophile argument has been tried, and it falls flat. Saddam was not a pedophile and Iraq was not a kindergarten, and I don't see how bombing the kindergarten to expel the pedophile is a reasonable course of action.

One of the disgusting things about CE, is that we keep rolling over the same arguments, over and over. You are unwilling to concede, but lack evidence, so we go to the next argument- the argument of analogy or the argument of pre-emptive self defense, or the hypocritical argument that we can choose to kill one set of tyrants while building up another.
