re: Hard to say

Alot of the features of the planet Venus are due to it being so close to the Sun in the first place. Although it's obvious that it would be significantly cooler if it moved out to Mars' orbit distance, it's not so obvious what else would change. The winds might still gust to 200 mph, because the terrain is so flat. If plants could grow they would would hug the ground. Water vapor might condense out of the atmosphere, but any seas that form would not be navigable because of the hurricane-like conditions. Otherwise we might be left with an earth-like planet with a carbon dioxide atmosphere, ready to grow life. I don't know what the temperature would be, it all depends on surface and cloud emissivity, which aren't predictable. I think we would have a habitable planet though, much more habitable than Mars.
