Yesterday FOX News saturated the air waves with reports about alleged ties between Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. FOX News reporters were then making remarks about how the Deomocrats are going to handle this block-buster disclosure. Naturally, the story and anti-Demo mantra got picked up by right-wing internet media and so-called "hot-talk" radio shows.
Unfortunately what FOX didn't report was what the Department of Defense had to say about all of this: DoD Statement on News Reports of al-Qaida and Iraq Connections
The key quote: "News reports that the Defense Department recently confirmed new information with respect to contacts between al-Qaida and Iraq in a letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee are inaccurate."
Naturally, FOX makes no effort to correct the record in today's stories - its mission of spin accomplished. Little wonder the people who watch FOX are the most misinformed citizens in America.
What's amusing is to watch folks here lambaste the New York Times for its alleged "biased reporting," yet these same folks tolerate and make excuses for FOX NEws' "unfair and unblanced" reporting.
