Current Events is basically the news
When we're discussing a news item, it only makes sense to provide a link to the course.
Opinions are fine. As we used to say in the military, "Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one."
What counts with me is an informed opinion. Informed opinion needs something to back it up, IMO, and that's where links come in. It also goes a long way towards understanding where someone's opinion originates. If the link is to something like www.whackjobconspiracywonks.org, well, that's illustrating one mindset. If the sources are deemed more credible, then that lends weight to the person's opinion.
But then, maybe that's just my opinion.
