Yes, Tom, isn't he good! MilBlogs has 48 on it's list, I think, but all military bloggers are not listed there. Blackfive & Boots On The Ground are good; Mudville Gazette has AWEsome WWII posters along its right edge. Soo many blogs, so little time! For fun, have you seen Allah Is In The House? Hilarious parody, good for an out-loud guffaw at the end of a long day. His blog on the day Soddom was captured gave me a side-stich from laughing, it was so funny. Or The Old Soldiers' Home? That's not a blog but a website with the greatest 1940's music. I put that puppy on and leave the sound on turned wayy up.
Yes, I do hear a lot from my son, Tom. He and a friend of mine with AAFES at B'dhad Airport send great emails when they can .. I mentioned a few to Marcia (above). My son gets to see little snippets of the country as he flies in supplies and men, usually spiraling in and getting out fast to avoid those RPGs and missels, but sometimes they spend days flying out of one air base. He also helped with the Iran disaster and was taken aback at the kindness with which the US soldiers and airmen, particularly, were welcomed. This is a heartbreaking time but surely one of great learning for us 'mericans, IMHO.
